Please join us for our annual Black Forest Weekend, Leather in the Woods.
This year’s theme is “Orange is the New Black Forest”, a Men and Women Behind Bars themed weekend.
Friday night’s meet and greet will be the “Orange” Party and will be held at the LumberJackers campsite on Trail 5. Wear something Orange! Shirt, hat, wig, or prison jumpsuit…whatever you like.
Saturday afternoon is the annual GREAT CANADIAN HEEL TOSS in the upper parking lot by Woodpeckers. Come flip your heels in the air or just watch others throw theirs. Start time planned for 11am (but really depends on how wild the meet and greet got the night before). Hot dogs and beverages will be provided around then as well.
Saturday night is the Black Forest Party…”The Brig”. A little history – The “Black Parties” in gay culture arose out the warehouse dance clubs (like New York’s The Saint and San Francisco’s Trocadero Transfer) of the late 70’s and 80’s and were traditionally held around Halloween. Dress code is leather, levis and black clothing. Our dj that evening played in the San Francisco clubs in the 80’s and will bring some of that old black party music back that evening…music like Patrick Cowley, Depeche Mode and Lime, as well as current favorites. Party starts in the main party site at 9:30pm.
At all of TRC’s events beverages are provided both nights and are included in the party cost. All event weekend pass is $30 (same as last year…we’re trying to hold the party costs static). Individually, Friday meet and greet, $10, Saturday night, $25. The party fee is a non-deductible donation to the TRC improvement fund to continue adding and improving services at TRC. Regular camping fees apply and are not included in the party price.
